Lost My Mother To Ovarian Cancer A Few Years Ago. I Had Promised Myself Then To Generate/provide Concrete Help?

to patients/caregivers. And then life moved on. I forgot (well, not really). Need ideas to get started. I have seen & heard of patients/caregivers declining treatment for want of funds or courage to persist in the fight. Your thoughts/ideas?

Visit oncology wards and ask the nursing crew who doesn’t get regular visitors. Bringing some current reading material or things like cross word puzzles are always appreciated. Veteran’s hospitals have a lot of neglected older cancer patients who could use the cheering up and feeling someone cares. I am vet and have seen the wards I’m talking about. They usually are bare bones with no reading material at all so books would be nice too - not cancer or serious stuff, but action or mysteries etc.

I lost my Mother to it as well. Why don’t you become a relief carer to patients being cared for at home , so that the family can have time out. I know it was good to get out once a fortnight and forget for a short time. Plus the patients love the visit as well
