Cysts are extremely common. Virtually every woman has cysts at some point. 99.9% of those cysts are NOT CANCER. Ovarian cancer has a particular appearance–generally cancers are irregular in shape with things growing inside, while cysts are like fluid-filled balloons. So, often, looking at a cyst, a doc can have suspicions, and they’ll order follow-up tests. If cysts look like normal cysts, they won’t bother, since basically every woman has them at some point, and the ovary produces normal cysts–egg follicles and corpus luteum cysts–every month. Your friend can relax, and know that not only do cysts not equal cancer, they basically almost never equal cancer.

there is no need to worry, about 95% of ovarian cysts are harmless and its actually very common to get them younger…but if a cyst begins to cause pain or bleeding or is then 5cm in diameter…surgery will be needed. but anyways they are NOT tumors or cancer, theyre just a collection of fluid surrounded by a very thin wall.

Cysts are not tumors. Cysts are usually benign. There are many kinds of ovarian cysts and many go away without any treatment at all. It is a pity that her doctor did not explain this to her.
