Survival Rates For Stage 3 Ovarian Cancer?

Has anyone gone a while with at least stage 3 ovarian cancer and survived? My mom has it (8/2006) and is on her second chemo. All the statistics on the web are depressing but she now has a positive outlook that she will beat it. But the ‘recurrance’ they all talk about really frightens me. Thanks!

Is It True That If You Do Not Have Periods It Can Cause Ovarian Cancer And Why?

No, if you mean using birth control to not have periods it greatly reduces you risk of cervical and ovarian cancer.
Edit: I disagree with the person responding after me. It may increase your risk of breast cancer, but not cervical and ovarian cancer. Talk to your nurse, that’s how I found this out!

I’m interested, how could these two possibly be related to each other?

Ovarian Cancer - Is Radiation Therapy Common Treatment And If So, Does It Cause Seizures???

I work in a very small firm and a young girl has been using outrageous excuses for being out sick…ovarian cancer (radiation therapy is now causing seizures), bad back aches (now getting cortisone shots…caused from moving one weekend)….among so many others (like death of parents and grandparents). The cancer and seizures just broke the camel’s back — by the way, she was running late a couple of weeks ago and said she had a seizure on the way to work (while driving)….but she came to work — not disheveled or sickly looking!

So Scared Of Ovarian Cancer?

Hi I am a 23/F, before I list my symptoms please do not tell me to go see a doctor because I know. I have finaly made an appointment & will be doing so shortly…
I have been having lower pelvic pain for months. 1st on my right side only and now it has spread to my left. It is a dull achey pain. I am also having a dull aching pain in both of my thighs & back. I have started burping & pooping (sorry!) more as well. It seems to be the worst the week or so after I have my period. I have already diagnosed myself with ovarian cancer & am going through extreme anxiety over the fact I may have it. I have finaly gave in and am going to a doctor even though I am extremely scared of anything gynocological. The symptoms seem to be getting worse. Is it likely that at age 23 I have ovarian cancer? There is no known diagnosis of it in my family. I am just so worried I am driving myself crazy. Thanks guys.
